Movie review about HAIRSPRAY
A movie I recommend is “HAIRSPRAY”. It has been my favorite movie since I was a child. The original musical was released on Broadway in August 2002, and it came to Japan in October 2007. The musical had won 8 Tony Awards and 4 Laurence Olivier Awards. The director of this movie is Adam Shankman. His other best-known work is “Glee”. “HAIRSPRAY” is a romantic musical comedy movie. This genre’s movie can be enjoyed by both men and women. Usually it deals with love, but this movie also deals with racism and body image complex. But, this movie is not a dark story because it has comedy elements. The movie has a lot of fans, so the musical version will be staged in Japan next summer. The main Character in “HAIRSPRAY” is Tracy Turnblad, played by Nikki Blonsky. Tracy is big size girl who is a high school student and she loves singing and dancing.
